Pennington Named Comeback Player Of The Year

Published by wv918 at 1:35 pm under football Edit This

marshallDolphinsI wonder if Chad Pennington thought his career was over after being thrown on the quarterback junk pile by the New York Jets right before the start of training camp this season. I also wonder if the Jets regret their decision of doing it and bringing in Brett Favre. At first in looked like a real good decision for them with Favre starting strong but as the season wore on his play got worse and worse.

Then you have Pennington who was snapped up by the Miami Dolphins who the season before had went 1-15 and he leads them to the AFC East title. What made it even sweeter was the fact that Miami had to go into the Jets home stadium and play them in the deciding game. As a result of Chad’s leading Miami to the playoffs and his great playing he won the AP Comeback Player Of The Year Award yesterday. He threw for a career high 3,653 yards and only had 7 interceptions. It’s especially cool for me to see Him do so well because he went to college at Marshall here in West Virginia. I always follow any of the boys who go to school in state and then do good.
