Chargers Jolt Colts 23-17 In OT
Just about everybody’s favorite pick to make it to the Superbowl out of the AFC got a boot to the backside last night when the Indianapolis Colts got beat by The San Diego Chargers 23-17 in overtime. All you heard from the talking heads on ESPN was look out for the Colts, Peyton Manning’s back to his old self. Pencil them in for the Superbowl. Manning had a good game going 25 for 42 for 310 and 1 touchdown but one player is not going to beat a team. He didn’t have anything of a running game with Joseph Addai rushing 16 times for 44 yards. Just the opposite you have Philip Rivers who didn’t have stats to match Manning going 20 for 36 for 217 and 1 interception. What Rivers had though was Darren Sproles, the little guy was all over the place. Sproles had 328 all purpose yards from either rushing, receiving or returning kicks. He rushed for 105 yards on 23 carries, caught 5 passes for 45 yards, returned 4 kickoffs for 106 yards and had 3 punt returns for 73 yards. Next up for the Chargers is either the Pittsburgh Steelers or Tennessee Titans. I hear Manning has a hair appointment to get that haircut he had been putting off for 9 weeks while they was on their winning streak.
