Published by wv918 at 3:20 pm under basketball Edit This

bobcatsThe Boston Celtics were looking unbeatable when they reeled off 19 straight wins and got off to a 27-2 start on the season. With the loss to the Los Angeles Lakers on Christmas day 92-83 they are 2-5 and have lost to 3 of if not the worst then close to it teams in the NBA. One of those losses was last night at the hands of the Charlotte Bobcats 114-106 in overtime. The Bobcats are the worst offensive team in the league but they had their second best scoring night of the season. Raymond Felton scored 25 points and D.J. Augustin added 20 including 11 in overtime. Gerald Wallace also added 23 points. Paul Pierce scored 28 for the Celtics and Ray Allen put in 20 but was 7 for 20 from the field in doing it.  Kevin Garnett had 14 points and 13 rebounds but also had a critical turnover in the Bobcats finishing run. The Celtics did rally from a 10 point deficit in the third quarter and take a 7 point lead but allowed Charlotte back into the game and they forced it into overtime. Then they outscored Boston 19-7 in the overtime period to seal the victory.
