Browns Hire Mangini As Next Head Coach

Published by wv918 at 11:36 am under football Edit This

browns flagIt didn’t take the Cleveland Browns long to pick a new head coach once their season ended. They chose Eric Mangini from the pile of coach’s that were fired after the regular season ended. Mangini had spent the last 3 seasons as the New York Jets head coach where he had a record of 23-25. First year he was with the Jets they went 10-6 and made the playoffs but next year fell back to earth with a 4-12 record. This season they started out 8-3 and looking good then Brett Favre got to feeling his age and they finished the season 1-4 and missed the playoffs by losing to the Miami Dolphins on the last day. The Browns on the other hand fired Romeo Crennel at seasons end after he went a disappointing 4-12. Just last year they had a record of 10-6 their best since 1994 but couldn’t repeat the effort this season. Crennel spent 4 seasons with the Browns and had a record of 24-40 but looked like things were heading in the right direction after last years 10-6 mark but it wasn’t to be.
