Track Testing Ban Makes Drivers Happier

Published by wv918 at 9:58 am under Nascar Edit This

Is it just me or does all the drivers seem happier and more excited to get in their cars than in years past. I think it is due to the ban on off season track testing that Nascar implemented at the end of the year.

In years past the season would end and a driver would have about 1 week off then he would start track testing at places like Daytona, Las Vegas or Atlanta.

The testing ban is a big help to the smaller teams who want to compete but can’t because the track rental, travel and equipment costs are outrageous. The cost to the big teams like Hendricks or Roush-Fenway are minor compared to the advantage they were getting by test. On camera they say it’s all good but I bet back in the hauler there pissed about it.

I think its cool that there is so many single car teams like Jeremy Mayfield and Tommy Baldwin also the Wood Brothers  trying to make a go of it this year. I would love to even see Bill Elliott win the 500 this year. That would be a sight, the 21 car back in winners circle.

Practice is today at 11:00 for the Gatorade 150’s that are running tommoow. You can watch the practice sessions on Speed channel.
