Greg Biffle Wins Sam’s Town 300
After everyone was done making their share of mistakes in the Nascar Sam’s Town 300 yesterday, Greg Biffle ended up winning the race. He had his share of mistakes from running out of gas twice to being caught for speeding on pit road.
His win snapped a 76 race winless streak that he had going. He last won a Nationwide race in January of last year.
Every other driver who led ended up having trouble similar to Biffle’s and when it all ended he was the surprise winner.
Carl Edwards was leading the race when the last caution came out with 9 laps to go when Denny Hamlin lost a tire after hitting the wall and Mike Bliss rear ended him in a fiery crash. That set up a green, white, checkered flag situation and led to Biffle passing Edwards for the win.
Brian Vickers had a car capable of winning but was penalized after leaving a lug nut off during pit stops and ended up with a third place finish.
Jason Leffler was fourth followed by Dale Earnhardt Jr, in fifth. The rest of the top 10 were Michael McDowell, Brendan Gaughn, Justin Allgaier, Scott Lagasse and finally Jeff Burton.
Burton caused a wreck that took out what looked like the best car, the 33 driven by Kevin Harvick. Burton got loose and his car spun up the track and Harvick had no where to go. I heard Harvick on the radio say Burton was in over his head driving that piece of junk. You can bet Harvick was pissed Burton ended up in 10th place.
Kyle Busch who seems to always dominate lately in the Nationwide series wrecked early in the running while racing for the lead with Kevin Harvick. His wreck also took out Scott Speed who was the pole sitter.
Busch took full responsibility for the crash and said it was to early to be racing for the lead and he should have known better.
