World Baseball Classic mercy rule is stupid
Am I the only one who thinks having the mercy rule in the World Baseball Classic is a stupid idea. I mean its a little league rule used to keep better teams from embarrassing less talented little league teams.
The game between Puerto Rico and the United States was called after 7 inning’s because Puerto Rico was up 11-1. These are grown men most of who are millionaires, they don’t need a mercy rule to keep them from being embarrassed on the field.
If I was one of the major league ball players on the U.S team I would be rather get beat 20-1 in a 9 inning game then have a little league mercy rule called on me. I bet the whole bunch of them are ashamed of their performance against the Puerto Rican team.
