Kasey Kahne off to good start

Published by wv918 at 8:36 am under Nascar Edit This

Since one of my favorite drivers is Kasey Kahne I thought I would checkout how he’s being doing so far this Nascar Sprint Cup season. Right now he’s sitting 6th in the Nascar Sprint Cup standings, 155 points behind leader Jeff Gordon.

After a not so great finish of 29th at the Daytona 500 to start the season, he has rebounded with four very good runs. He was 12th at Fontana, 11th at Las Vegas, 7th at Atlanta and last week at Bristol he came in 5th. Pay attention to how the finishes keep getting better, I think Kasey’s headed for a win soon.

This next race at the Martinsville track, hes had 10 starts there and only 2 top 10 finishes so hopefully he can turn that around. The two races there last year he finished 17th and 33rd with the 33rd result due to a electrical problem.

Ive studied Kasey’s career stats and they look like if he qualifies good he has a good finish. Some drivers can start in the back and get good results but I don’t think that’s the case with Kasey.

He has 9 wins for his career and of those 9 wins 7 have either came from the pole or in second position, the other 2 wins he started 9th. Looking further at his finishes, he has 186 starts in his career and only 3 top 5 results when starting from 30th or worse, which you just as well say the back of the pack.

He only has 1 top 5 when starting from 21st through 29th place. 10 top 5 finishes when starting 11th through 20th and finally, if he starts in the top 10 he has had 22 top 5 results which includes his 9 wins of course.

So what that tell me is if Kasey can get a top 20 starting spot or better yet top 10 then he will be in for a good day and maybe even a win.
