The King needs to stick to Nascar

Published by wv918 at 11:21 am under Nascar Edit This

Since the Nascar Sprint Cup series is off this weekend for Easter, I thought I would catch up on one of the news stories that has come up.

The story involves Richard Petty fielding a car in the Indianapolis 500 this coming May, I have mixed emotions on that. First I think it would be cool to see The King’s number 43 Petty blue and red car do good in the race. It would also be nice to see John Andretti who drove for Richard Petty from 1998 until 2003 come up with a good showing.

Then my other feeling is Richard Petty should be concentrating on trying to make his 43 car in the Nascar series run better. Just being honest here but the 43 car is not making the grade so far with 7 races into the season. Reed Sorenson who is the driver started out the Daytona 500 with a good 9th place finish but since then it has went downhill. The other six races he has finished 21st, 34th, 33rd, 23rd, 17th, and 36th last week at Texas. Right now he is 30th in in the Sprint Cup standings and if he’s not careful he’s going to fall outside of the top 35.

For comparison 2 of his team mates, Kasey Kahne and A.J. Allmendinger are  10th and 20th in the Sprint Cup standings. Supposedly they have the same equipment as Reed but yet he’s struggling. I just think Richard Petty should have his plate full trying to make the 43 Nascar car run better and not get involved in the Indy 500.

well i have to say with reed i think we will never know how good he is until he walks away from dodge. really only people that has made the dodge work is kurt busch and sometimes kasey aj hasnt done to bad but still the dodge sucks and needs a lot of help. i wish reed the best but if i’m honest the 43 hasn’t been that good since richard retired. good luck reed!
