Matt Kenseth wins Nationwide race at Darlington

Published by wv918 at 8:43 am under Nascar Edit This

In the running of the Nationwide Diamond Hill Plywood 200 last night Matt Kenseth had the second best car all night long but lucked into a win when Kyle Busch cut a tire running over debris and had to pit with 2 laps to go.

A wreck involving Joe Nemechek and Scott Lagasse Jr with 5 laps left scattered debris over the track and Busch ran over a piece of it. Busch was forced to pit and wound up finishing 16th in the race. He had the dominate car all night long, he led a total of 143 of the 155 laps but in the end had nothing to show for it.

Jason Leffler came in second and Carl Edwards was third followed by 2 rookies Erik Darnell and Justin Allgaier finishing up the top 5. With Kyle Busch’s troubles Carl Edward was able to shrink Busch’s point lead in the Nationwide series standings to just 37 points.
